Photovoltaic module manufacturing: the production cycle

Tested and selected photovoltaic cells

Production cycle of our photovoltaic modules is made up of distinct phases, all of which are monitored by technicians specialising in the production of high-performance photovoltaic panels.
The superior-quality photovoltaic cells from which our photovoltaic modules are made are subject to strict selection to allow for division into classes based on performance.

The photovoltaic cells are selected to guarantee the performance of the complete module. In this way, the potential of the photovoltaic cells is optimised.

 

Soldering, preparation of the series.
Welders join the series of cells to preform the photovoltaic module in a pattern.

 

Lamination
The ‘sandwich’, composed of cells, two leaves of EVA and one of PYE in the back sheet, is then cooked in a vacuum: the result is a chamber that is hermetically sealed and therefore protected from agents in the external atmosphere.

 

Trimming
Following lamination, cutting is carried out to trim the ‘sandwich’.

 

Framing and electrical connection
The connectors are fixed in aluminium and the electrical contacts are connected.

 

Solar simulation
The electrical characteristics of the module are checked with a special solar simulator to control the final quality of the product.

 

Labelling
This phase identifies each module by recording the serial number that has already been inserted in the ‘sandwich’ and the data gathered by the solar simulator, including the class to which the ‘sandwich’ belongs. In addition, the specialised packaging provides the content serial numbers to allow complete product traceability throughout the production process.

S.A.C. system
An aluminum exchanger is applied on the back surface of the laminated photovoltaic module.
This system can recover all of the thermal energy coming from the sun, that will not be converted into electricity.
